EDP Closure

This week we received notification from TDSB that Mountview’s EDP program will not be operating next school year due to low enrolments. The last day of the current EDP program will be Friday July 2, 2021.

We understand this closure will impact many Mountview families, especially as more parents and caregivers potentially return to in-person work as the covid situation resolves.

The Mountview school community was not consulted in the decision to close our EDP. A parent/caregiver representative will be following this up with TDSB and we will provide further updates. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to voice their concerns about the EDP closure to Mountview administration, our Superintendent (Erin Altosaar: Erin.Altosaar@tdsb.on.ca), and to the TDSB (Sharon Hack, TDSB Child Care Services Manager: Sharon.Hack@tdsb.on.ca).

We will also be working with Mountview administration to examine the possibility of implementing an alternative to the TDSB EDP arrangement. We anticipate administration will send a survey to current and incoming Mountview families in the coming weeks to determine the number of families who are likely to need before and after care in September and onwards. Please keep an eye out for this survey and ensure you complete it if your family is likely to require before and after care.

If you know of any providers who may be suitable alternatives to our current EDP program, please get in touch with Elise Cosineau at elise_cousineau@hotmail.com or SAC Co-Chairs at mountviewco.chairs@gmail.com
