Mountview Alternative School Equity and Social Justice Committee with funds received from our Parents Reaching Out grant (PRO) we are proud to invite you to a live workshop to address anti-Black racism by providing families with ideas and concrete actions on how to talk about race and racism with our children.
The founders of Parents of Black Children (PoBC), an advocacy group formed to support and advocate on behalf of Black students and their parents, will join us to have the Race Talk with parents and caregivers. PoBC works to address and dismantle anti-Black racism and systemic barriers within the education system. Their goal is to ensure that Black children are able to access an equitable and peaceful education.
We are honoured to learn from Black mothers and their experiences.
Join us, stand with us and take action to dismantle anti-Black racism within our school communities.
Families will also receive a Resource Guide with tools and tips to deepen their efforts on Anti-Racist work.
